Inclined Plane
Description: An inclined plane is a flat surface that lies at an angle relative to level ground used to form a ramp to raise and lower a load. The load can be as simple as a person, i.e. walking up a ramp, or larger such as trains hauling materials along a graded track. The steepness and length of the plane help to distribute weight and reduce work that is needed to lift or lower materials from one elevation to another.
